Instagram Inspiration with our Morris and Sons Yarn: June and July

This month, we have been amazed by the creative wonders our Morris and Sons family have shared on our Instagram using Morris and Sons yarn. Each talented crafter has shown their excellent skills and shared what makes their project special.

June Winner

Juli (@julimakescrafts) created the crochet beauty with our Schoopel Zauberperlen in colourways 'Subito', 'Adagio' and 'Vigoroso'.

"I fell in love with this project when Maria from @lolacrochets first posted it and I was very honoured to be a part of her pattern testing team".

"After a very difficult year for me and my family I was looking for some bright colours. Each project I get to crochet has an emotional attachment and this one was to bring joy and positivity".

"Working on this project definitely brought me so much joy. The colours were literally bringing a smile on my face and the softness of cotton was so pleasant to work with".

June Crafters

Joy (@joywhite2) made this gorgeous knit using our Rowan Felted Tweed

"My daughter Kelly White (@thestorybookrabbit) chose the colours and I used a repeat of the flower design throughout the piece. The pattern was The Lundy Jumper on Ravelry".

Emily (@oliverknits) knit the Northwoods v-neck by Jessie Mead Designs using our Morris Empire 8 ply yarn

"I loved that the concept behind this pattern and Morris Empire allowed me to select the colours that spoke to me the most".

Sarah (@so_sarah_sewed) used the "Ghost Whisperer" pattern by Park Williams and our Rowan Kidsilk in the green colorway to create her gorgeous knit.

"I decided to lengthen the bodice by 2.5 inches as I didn't want it too cropped!  I love how beautiful and soft the yarn is and how floaty and pretty it looks.  I've never knit puffed sleeves before and I think they're my favourite feature of the top"!

This is Julie (@blueeyedjulie) Crochet Fan Stitch Jumper by Susannah Kate of @peppergoose .
"It was crocheted using Morris and Sons Estate 4ply in Jacaranda. Such a soft yarn. I’m very happy with the results. Thank you @morrisandsons".

Chloe (@chloe_cut_it_) made this wonderful bonnet using our Avalon 10ply 100% Pima Cotton in '4127 Corundum (Bright Blue)'

"Morris Avalon is so beautiful and soft, perfect for a bonnet! This is the bonnet I made for myself and I'm making one for my nephew!"

As July is our biggest month of the year we’ve decided to do part one AND two! Participants for Part Two will be selected and announced with our August giveaway.

July Crafters: Part One

Charlie (@yarrayarncreations) created the gorgeous Po the Playful Penguin by Alanna O'Dea (@theodoreandrose) using our Rowan Summerlite DK in colours 'Steel', 'Black', 'White' and 'Cantaloupe'.

"This lovely was made with lots of love as a gift for the team lead educator in my daughter’s daycare room. She was expecting her first child and like me, emigrated to Australia so was without her extended family".

"I wanted to make something special for her to say thank you for taking such good care of my daughter and to wish her well on her own parenting journey".

Anita (@ansak2005) used Morris Estate 10 ply 100% Wool Yarn for her crochet blanket. Can you believe this is her second crochet project ever!

"The wool was perfect as it came in so many different colours and I used 30 of them. I didn’t use any particular pattern. I basically watched a lot of videos on YouTube on how to make and join granny squares.  It was a present for my daughter who saw a similar one online".

Jo (@oradesignz) Morris Maya 14 ply

"This weaving project used mainly Maya 14 ply yarns in 'Ocean' and 'Harvest' where I had several balls left over from a jumper. Admittedly, a happy miscalculation! Also some of Norway 14ply in 'Charcoal' leftovers too".

Paige (@purlswithpaige) created the  Olivia's This Handmade Life ( @thishandmadelife) Winter's Frost Sock with our Regia Premium Merino Yak.

Your creativity and talent never fail to amaze us! We can’t wait to see what you create next!
