The Maggie Vest is a top-down knit with a tailored look and thoughtful shaping throughout. It begins with the back yoke, worked flat and shaped with increases. Stitches for the shoulders are then picked up along the back yoke, and each front is shaped individually with increases and decreases. At the underarms, the fronts and back are joined, and the body is worked flat to the hem. Ribbing is added around the armholes, and the vest is finished with front plackets and a neckline worked in rib for a polished finish. Be sure to knit a swatch before starting to ensure proper gauge.
Size Guide
The Maggie Vest is designed to have approx. 5 cm of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 5 cm larger in circumference than your bust measurement.
Please note that these measurements can only be achieved if the correct gauge is maintained throughout. Measure yourself before beginning your project, to determine which size will fit you the best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around your bust (or around the widest part of your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S vest has a bust circumference of 96 cm, which in the given example would give you 6 cm of positive ease.
