The Holiday Slipover is a chunky, top-down vest with an oversized fit and deep armholes, perfect for layering. It’s worked in stockinette stitch, beginning with the back yoke, followed by the shoulders and front yoke, before the body is knit in the round. The hem features a split rib detail, with the back worked slightly longer than the front for a modern shape. Ribbed edges at the neckline and armholes are finished with an Italian cast-off for a clean, polished look. The pattern is typically knit with three strands held together—two of the main yarn and one strand of silk mohair—for a plush, textured finish. Be sure to knit a swatch to confirm both stitch and row gauge before starting.

Size guide

The Holiday Slipover is designed to have approx. 6 cm of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be 6 cm larger in circumference than your chest measurement.

Before beginning your project, measure yourself with a measuring tape around your bust to determine which size will fit you the best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around your bust (or the widest part on your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 96 cm, which in the given example would give you 5 cm of positive ease.

If you would like a more oversized fit, chose a size larger than you would normally do.
