Store Manager – Lead Our Prestigious Flagship Store | Morris & Sons Australia

Morris and Sons, a family business with over 50 years of heritage, is seeking a dynamic and experienced retail leader to manage our flagship store. We are looking for a candidate with a deep appreciation for craft and a proven ability to build meaningful customer relationships. In this role, you’ll inspire and lead our team, strengthening community connections while driving sales performance.

Key Responsibilities: 

The Customer: 

  • Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service across all channels. 
  • Expand the store’s customer base and resolve customer concerns aligned with our customer-centric values. 

Team: 

  • Hire and onboard new team members in line with our SOPs. 
  • Train and develop your team through quarterly performance reviews and action plans. 
  • Manage rostering and wage control through performance-based scheduling. 
  • Address and resolve team conflicts effectively. 

 

Sales: 

  • Achieve sales KPIs through training, motivating, and mentoring the team. 
  • Lead biweekly morning training sessions to provide regular feedback and drive performance. 
  • Propose and implement innovative ideas to grow the business both in-store and nationally. 

Administration: 

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with policies and M&S core values, including: 
  • Timesheets, rosters, and banking 
  • Stock level management, class preparation 
  • Promotions preparation, sales, and performance reporting 
  • Reporting on buying trends, customer needs, and missed opportunities 

Store Standards and Visual Merchandising: 

  • Maintain store cleanliness and visual presentation to the expected standards. 
  • Execute promotion setups accurately and on time. 
  • Provide feedback on signage and visual merchandising effectiveness in your Weekly Sales Report. 

Stock: 

  • Maintain stock standards and ensure correct pricing. 
  • Execute stock takes and handle stock transfers with accuracy. 
  • Regularly review top-selling items and develop action plans for weaker sellers. 

Marketing: 

  • Engage in M&S social media to drive traffic to the store and website. 
  • Lead in-store marketing events and promotions. 
  • Develop and report on localized marketing opportunities and growth prospects to the marketing team.
