Morris & Sons is looking for a Sydney based Social Media and Marketing Assistant and we want you. 


 23 – 30hrs/week across, store, head office and work from home  

We are looking for someone to create engaging and compelling visual content for our social media platforms. The Social Media and Marketing Assistant will be responsible for brainstorming campaigns and marketing strategies, filming content, editing static images and videos, retooling existing content for different situations and demographics, creating social media posts, engaging and responding to our followers enquires with assistance from the sales team, preparing reports and analytics, and contributing to the overall visual storytelling of the brand.  
In this position, a passion for handcrafts is a major bonus but not mandatory.  We are looking for somebody energetic and flexible that can work within a fast-changing environment, ready to pivot and chase new ideas as we evolve in our online presence.  

By embodying these key skills, capabilities, and attributes, the Social Media and Marketing Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing Morris and Sons' online presence, engaging the target audience, and supporting the overall marketing objectives. 

Key skills and capability   

  • Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Cap Cut, etc.) and image editing and design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva, etc.) 
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices 
  • Familiarity with basic videography principles, including framing, composition, audio and lighting.  
  • Creative mindset with the ability to translate ideas into visually appealing content 
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency 
  • Copywriting skills. Experience in creating copy that is engaging and aligned with Morris and Sons brands voice and values. 
  • Time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively 
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand project requirements.  
  • Ability to engage with our audience by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
