Morris & Sons

Hello !

I know we are a little late in this but Happy New Year!

Fabric Department

2017 is an exciting year for us at Morris & Sons as we begin to stock fabrics in both our Sydney and Melbourne stores. For the patchworker, we have the full range of Kona solids. These solid colours complement our patterned ranges from a selection of designers including Michael Miller, Ty Pennington and Joel Dewberry. We have also had in a variety of quilt, bag and cushion patterns. Dress and upholstery fabrics are now also in store along with dress patterns.

The latest addition to our yarn selection is Manos Del Uruguay Milo. This is an 8 ply yarn and is $36.00 per 100g (350 meters) skein. It’s a delicious blend of 65% Merino and 35% Linen and comes in a variety of beautiful muted hues perfect for starting to knit those winter woollies! We have also just had a delivery of very cute heart and tulip shaped stitch markers from Japanese brand Tulip which start at $6.50. These are available in stores and at our online shop.

Whether you're a seasoned knitter or just doing your first granny square, our classes cater for all. The Crochet classes in particular seem to fill up fast, so check them out now and book in early to avoid disappointment. Details of all the classes can be found online or you can collect a paper copy from any of our stores.

We also found from last season many students booking in with their family or friends, which is a really cool idea. Have you thought of inviting some friends or family to learn with you? It's definitely more enjoyable when you can share your hobby with the people close to you.

If you don't find any classes that appeal to you or the one you would like to attend is not at a suitable time, we also offer individual classes by arrangement and can also organize a separate class for group bookings. So keep us in mind for your next event or celebration!

Call-Out for Teachers

We are looking for a new craft clinic teacher in our Melbourne City Store. Craft Clinic aims to assist customers with troubleshooting problems or finishing their own personal projects. Clinic teachers are saintly creatures that have a good knowledge of knitting and crochet (and craft in general, ideally) and most importantly have the patience and enthusiasm to share their knowledge!
