Continental Knitting

Learn the basics of Continental knitting, where the yarn is held in the left hand, in this introductory class. Being able to knit in both Continental and English styles is a huge advantage when doing colour work as you can hold one colour in each hand.
  • Proficiency and confidence in English Style knitting
  • Pattern reading
  • Understanding of the construction of knitted objects
  • Confidence when “reading” knitting
  • Continental knit
  • Continental purl (Norwegian and regular)
  • Reading a chart
  • Designing a knit and purl picture chart

Bookings are essential. This class costs $60. Supplies not included.

  • Notepad and Pen
  • Scissors
  • 1 ball of 10ply yarn (Morris Estate recommended)
  • 5mm knitting needles
  • Yarn needle

CLASS MINIMUMS: Minimum class size is 5 students. If your class is cancelled, we will contact you and issue a full refund. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot and ensure minimum enrollment. Bring a friend!

CANCELLATIONS: You may cancel up to 7 days before your first class for a full refund. If you cancel later, we cannot issue a refund unless we are able to fill your spot from a waiting list. If you're unable to cancel in time for a refund, you can always send a friend in your place. If we must cancel a class, we will issue a full refund.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR CLASS: Please report 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to the Morris and Sons, 243 Collins Street, Melbourne. Please note that Morris and Sons cannot take responsibility for your personal belongings while you are on our premises: while our classes are friendly and generally problem-free, we advise you to be aware of the location and security of your belongings at all times.
