Professionally Finish Your Garments
If you’re interested in knowing how to give your garments a professional finish, then this is the class for you. Learn different methods of cast ons, cast offs, and ways to pick up stitches. Delve into the intricacies of sewing your garment together, blocking and attaching fastenings, all to give your garment that perfect finish. Suitable for competent knitters or those who have completed our Stage 2 class.

TO BRING WITH YOU:
- Samples as per patterns (as per below)
- 3 x 4.00mm knitting needles (not double pointed)
- 1 pair of 3.25mm knitting needles
- 1 crochet hook size 3.00mm or 4.00mm
- 1 wool needle for sewing
- 1 ball of 8ply wool or cotton in contrasting colour to that of the samples.
- 1 ball of 8ply wool or cotton in same colour as the samples
- pen, pencil and eraser
- tape measure
- large pins or safety pins for tacking seams.
UNFINISHED SAMPLE PATTERN:
Cast on 22 Stitches, work in stocking stitch for 5cm. Ending on a knit row, DO NOT cast off . Transfer unfinished samples to a stitch holder. Make 2.
Cast on 22 Stitches, work in stocking stitch for 5cm. Ending on a purl row, DO NOT cast off . Transfer unfinished samples to a stitch holder. Make 2.
CURVED SAMPLE PATTERN:
Cast on 22 Stitches, work in stocking stitch for 2cm then begin shaping as follows:
Row 1: Cast off 4 sts, knit to end
Row 2 & every wrong side row: Purl
Row 3: Cast off 2 sts, knit to end
Row 5: Knit 2, SSK, Knit to end. Continue this shaping on every subsequent right side row until there are about 10 sts on the needle. Continue knitting without shaping until the sample is 10cm long.

CLASS MINIMUMS: Minimum class size is 5 students. If your class is cancelled, we will contact you and issue a full refund. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot and ensure minimum enrollment. Bring a friend!
CANCELLATIONS: You may cancel up to 7 days before your first class for a full refund. If you cancel later, we cannot issue a refund unless we are able to fill your spot from a waiting list. If you're unable to cancel in time for a refund, you can always send a friend in your place. If we must cancel a class, we will issue a full refund.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR CLASS: Please report 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to the Morris and Sons Knitting Department, 50 York Street, Sydney.
